My Story
My Mother became a statistic in 2001 when someone ran a red light. I had no idea what needed to be done or where to start. I soon found out! First, the unknown questions the funeral home and cemetery asked which needed answered. Then the searching for bills, receipts, stocks, retirement information, insurance, memberships and other paperwork started consuming my days. After finding the necessary papers, I spent the next months making phone calls, mailing paperwork, taking care of legal issues, continually dealing with the insurance companies, cemetery, creditors and more. Dealing with these issues, working full time, taking care of my family and grieving the loss of my Mother, I became extremely overwhelmed and exhausted. The surprising fact is my Mother thought she was organized and so did I. She had a will and had showed me where it was located as well as other important paperwork such as her insurance policies. If we have a WILL we are prepared - right?
